Running out of space on your email account means you won't be able to receive new messages. Here is how to check your usage and increase your storage quota.
Step 1: Check Current Usage
-
Log in to your cPanel.
-
Go to "Email Accounts."
-
You will see a list of your email accounts. Under the "Usage" column, you can see how much of their allocated quota they are using (e.g., 250 MB of 1 GB).
Step 2: Increase the Quota
If an account is running low on space:
-
In the "Email Accounts" screen, find the account you want to modify.
-
Click the "Manage" button (or the Settings/Edit icon).
-
Scroll down to the "Quota" section.
-
You have two options:
-
Custom Quota: Enter a higher number (e.g., change from 1000 MB to 5000 MB).
-
Unlimited: If your hosting plan allows, you can set the quota to "Unlimited."
-
-
Click "Update" or "Save."
Step 3: Check Overall Disk Space
Remember, all your email accounts share the same disk space as your website. If your main hosting account is full, you won't be able to increase email quotas.
-
Go to cPanel > "Disk Usage" to see what is taking up space (website files, old backups, or emails).
