A slow website can drive visitors away. If your site feels sluggish, here is a checklist to diagnose the problem on your BurjHost Shared Hosting account.
1. Check Your Resource Usage
-
Action: Go to cPanel > "Resource Usage."
-
Problem: Are you consistently hitting your CPU/RAM limits?
-
Solution: You may have outgrown shared hosting. Consider upgrading to a VPS, or optimize your code/plugins to use fewer resources.
2. Unoptimized Images
-
Action: Look at your pages. Are they full of high-resolution photos?
-
Problem: Large, uncompressed images take a long time to load.
-
Solution: Compress your images using a plugin or tool before uploading.
3. Too Many Plugins (For WordPress)
-
Action: Check your Plugins list.
-
Problem: Poorly coded or too many plugins can create database bloat and slow loading.
-
Solution: Deactivate and delete any unused plugins. Replace heavy plugins with lighter alternatives.
4. No Caching Enabled
-
Action: Check if a caching plugin is active.
-
Problem: Without caching, your server has to build the page from scratch every time someone visits.
-
Solution: Install a caching plugin or enable server-side caching if available in cPanel.
5. External Issues
-
Sometimes the issue is your local internet connection or a specific route on the internet. Try loading the site from a different device or network (like your phone on cellular data).
If you have checked all these and the site is still slow, contact BurjHost support. We can check the server status and logs to see if there is an underlying issue.
